Test access

Maestro supports multiple types of test accesses:

• ITAM (TAM integrated to switch, DSLAM or MSAN)
• ETAM/FTAM manufactured by VIERLING [link to 3.2] or partners.

Test access by switch is the most cost-effective solution. It allows for xDSL pre-qualification on non xDSL lines.

ETAM/FTAM can offer the following features:

• 1 side access or 2 side access (CO and CPE)
• Non-intrusive access for monitoring either POTS band or xDSL band

DSLAM port check or service testing requires either an ITAM in the DSLAM or ETAM/FTAM with CO side access.
